NEW SEASON, NEW LOCATION, NEW TEAM!

And you? What’s new? A cut, a color, a new hair-care routine!

At Tribus Urbaine, things are moving and shaking. Autumn’s vibrant colors – orange, red and green – boost our creativity and invite us to change or reinvent our look. In the spirit of change, we have a new location for our Geneva salon, several new hairdressers, a barber service, a dreadlock workshop, new hair products, and a new selection of magazines, books and other articles in the concept stores!

Drop by for a glass of scented water or herbal tea, or come have your hair done, and we’ll tell you all about it in person.

From Carl-Vogt to School of Medicine

Last month we announced, with great fanfare, the relocation of our Geneva salon on October 1st to a new address on Boulevard Carl-Vogt. We even relished the idea of thumbing our noses at this prominent and notoriously racist scientist.
But, when it came time to sign the lease and finalize the work schedule with the property management company, there was a dramatic turn of events!

Another agency contacted us with news that the original space we had visited at Rue École-de-MĂ©decine 14, had become available. They told us that it was ours if we wanted it and that they would take care of most of the renovation work. The space is smaller so the rent is cheaper and the location is just as interesting, but the building less prestigious. Nevertheless, we had already made a commitment to the other agency and communicated our new address. What to do?! Luckily, reason finally won out and we signed the lease at Rue Ecole-de-MĂ©decine-14.

So, now it’s official – starting Saturday October 10 (assuming the renovations are complete), Hatice, Sabrina, Doria, Stelly and Akeda will welcome you to the new Tribus Urbaine Geneva salon at Rue École-de-MĂ©decine 14. So exciting!

Akeda and Stelly were absent the day of filming so we promise to introduce them to you in the next Newsletter. Promise! Feel free to stop in and welcome them all.

More than a salon, a place buzzing with stories

Locks et dreadlocks - Atelier dans notre salon de coiffure de LausanneIn order to transform your waiting time into moments of real relaxation, we are happy to now offer an enriched selection of reading material thanks to a collaboration with the La Dispersion bookstore and subscriptions to two new magazines: THE FUNAMBULIST and CRWNMAG. Come in and enjoy!

And on a final note, special events are finally back on the agenda at Tribus Urbaine. On Sunday October 4 at 1 pm, in collaboration with Afrolitt, we welcome Evelyne Guillaume, founder of “Onatty locks” and author of the book Locks et vous, to our salon in Lausanne. Evelyne helps people that want to wear locks to care for and style their hair, and boost their self-esteem in the process.

If you want to participate in this event, please register here.

Furthermore, if you wear locks or want to get yours started, and wish to be a model for an internal training with Evelyne between October 5 and 7, please send us an email with your full contact details (name, premon, address email, phone number and date of birth) and we’ll get in touch!
