TRIBUS URBAINES is making waves that reach all the way to the end of the lake
Our origins: It all started in Lausanne. And then TRIBUS URBAINES was happy to expand their business to the city of Calvin, bringing recognition and care to the special needs of curly hair. And helping women (and men!) embrace the true nature of their curly, frizzy, and afro hair with love.
Our goal: To put a stop to the dictatorship of hair straightening – offering professional salon services for curly haired clientel, and creating a space for people to share, learn and feel valued.
Our latest achievement: Styling modelsâ hair for the upcoming 7th edition of the fashion show – AfrodyssĂ©e. Consistant with our brand, weâll be offering elegant, simple styles that enhance hair without distorting it.

Specialising in care, cut and styling of curly, frizzy and afro hair, TRIBUS URBAINES, opened its doors in Lausanne in 2017, and then in Geneva in 2020. The opening of a third salon in Sion (VS) is in the works for 2025 (maybe even by the end of this year!).
TU offers expert professional hair care, specialized products, workshops for children and adults, and training for hairdressing professionals.
The opening of each TRIBUS URBAINES salon represents a new kind of freedom. We have witnessed so many peoplesâ personal reconciliation with their hair, heard so many positive testimonials, attracted such diversity, seen so many smiles, heard so much laughter.
âOpen a salon in my area!â is the message we often receive by email, phone or on social media, from people in Valais, Fribourg, NeuchĂątel, Jura and Bern. Weâre comingâŠplease be patient!
