HAIR TIPS PART 1: OPTIMISING YOUR HAIR CARE ROUTINE

Your schedule is filled to the brim and you have no time to take care of your hair? Adopt a basic hair care routine and learn how to make each step count.

Ingredients:

    • Water
    • Shampoo
    • Hair conditioner
    • Leave-in/nourishing cream
    • Oil (almond, avocado, jojoba, grape seed, etc.)
    • Spray

Directions:

Essential step: select good-quality products. They should hydrate (even the shampoo) and contain water as a major ingredient. They should be free of sulphates, silicone or parabens.

Equip yourself with a hydrating shampoo, a conditioner and a styling/nourishing cream. Our recommendation: products by Nancy Falaise. They’re so hydrating that there is no need to apply a conditioner after shampooing.

Next step: wash your hair once a week in the morning with a shampoo and a conditioner (the more frizzy hair you have, the more indispensable hair conditioning is). Apply a small amount of your shampoo to wet hair, rinse with water and repeat the washing. It’ important that you wash your hair twice to make sure that it gets fully cleansed. By doing this, you prepare your curls for the rest of the haircare routine. Continue with a conditioner (one tablespoon). At this stage, detangle your hair, then rinse your head with water. Finally, apply a small dose of styling/nourishing cream as if you spread lotion on your body after shower.

During the intervals between shampooings, just spray your hair with water. Just water! When a plant is thirsty, it needs to be watered, not rinsed with oil. If you have the impression that your hair is really dry, add a small quantity of styling cream to your water vaporiser. To seal in hydration with a shine effect, warm up 3 drops of oil in your hands and apply to your curls with your fingers. Now you’re ready go.

Tip no. 1: Turn your conditioner into a mask. To do so, mix a tablespoon of oil (avocado, sweet almond, olive, etc.) with a tablespoon of the conditioner. Apply the mixture to your washed hair and leave for 30-40 minutes. If you want to hydrate your hair even more deeply, avoid coco or argan oils. They contain proteins (not hydrating ingredients) suitable for coloured, strengthened or highly damaged hair. You can also blend several oils. Make sure that you use at least one type of oil.

Tip no. 2: As a finishing touch, rinse your hair with very cold water (not only does it boost the shape of your curls, but it also stimulates blood circulation J), apply a small dose of styling cream to wet hair, towel dry it lightly, brush the curls with fingers and leave it to dry naturally.

Tip 3: Do not sleep with wet hair. This may cause dandruff.
